What the service involves.
Haven inspects and tests the alarm equipment installed at your property: smoke and heat alarms and detectors, carbon monoxide alarms and, where there is a fire alarm system, its control panel, manual call points, sounders, bells and visual alarm devices.
Each check is carried out where it applies to the equipment that is fitted. A home with stand-alone smoke and carbon monoxide alarms has no control panel or call points, so the visit covers what is actually there. Tell us what your property has before you book.
The results are written up in a report. Anything that needs attention is recorded as a defect or observation, with recommendations.
This is separate from a fire risk assessment, which is a different Haven service that looks at the fire hazards and precautions in a building as a whole.
